Machangulo Beach Lodge has undergone a multimillion-rand refurbishment.

The rooms, lounges, and bars have all been redecorated. A dhow bar is now included in the Baixas lounge and the Delagoa lounge was extended to improve the flow and size. The kitchen has been expanded to grow the food and beverage offering of the lodge.

The lodge’s fleet was also increased to a total of six boats. Christian Nolte, of Machangulo, said the extra boats allowed the lodge to increase the number of transfers, especially for smaller groups, and also to increase its activity offering, which includes fishing and snorkelling.

The lodge now also has a new temperature-controlled wine cellar housing over 70 wines.

Nolte said the lodge would continue to expand this year, growing the viewing decks, activity centre and activity offering.
