Max Apartments, a four-star business apartment hotel comprising 28 rooms, catering for business travellers and families, has opened in Illovo, Johannesburg.
The apartments are located close to Sandton City, the Sandton and Rosebank Gautrain Stations, Wanderers Stadium and Golf Club, Melrose Arch, Rosebank and many other convenient business and entertainment options.
“Our vision was to create a new form of commercial centres, established in prime business sites, which combined state-of-the-art facilities in period buildings regarded as cultural markers in their communities,” said Ajay Chathley who launched the property development company Real Estate Asset Development & Management (READAM) with partner Priya Chathley in 2008.
Each apartment has its own equipped kitchen, while guests can also choose to dine at the Max’s restaurant and bar. Max Apartments has also integrated dry cleaning, gym and car rental services.
Chathley said: “Our watchword for our property portfolio is to integrate it with market demand and the local business community. Max Apartments makes sense because Rosebank and Sandton are engaged in billions of rands.
Max Apartments has evolved from the old Don apartments which were built in the 1970’s. “Given the physical attributes of the property, we could have designed a 45-room upmarket hotel. But that would have risked losing our message. Choosing to go with 28 apartments enables us to make Max Apartments highly personal and specialised for every guest,” added Chathley.
