Ritsako Game Lodge in Dinokeng Game Reserve, Gauteng, recently opened its doors.

The R35-million ($2,5m) lodge is 45km north of Pretoria on the N1 highway, an hour-and-a-half drive from Johannesburg.

There are 38 rooms on the property, 19 of which are fully catered units that overlook a private swimming pool and viewing deck from where guests can look out on to a small river. The remainder of the rooms are self-catering apartments, offering several options for couples, corporates, families and groups.

An on-site restaurant serves a variety of food, including buffet breakfasts and requested buffets for functions. The bar operates from 10h00 until 02h00.

In addition, there are conferencing facilities on-site, as well as a reception area for weddings, which can accommodate a maximum of 250 guests.

Dinokeng Game Reserve is home to the Big Five.
