If you are attending this year’s Indaba, make sure you find out about these new tools and initiatives for the inbound tourism trade.
1.Wetu launches translation services
A translation service is now available for the 11 languages supported in Wetu. The service will also be available to operators and agents. 110 000 people, including tour operators and agents with non-English-speaking clients, access Wetu each month for content. “Suppliers should identify their main non-English markets and get Wetu to translate their iBrochures,” says Paul de Waal, Wetu CEO. “We’re already seeing a big demand for German and Dutch.”
For more information on these services, visit the Wetu stand at ICCF09.
2.New technology for tour operators
Travelogic Tour Operator Software is a South African-based company that serves clients both locally and abroad by managing internal processes. Tour operators will be able to send out a document using pre-designed templates and manage the booking process by keeping track of provisional, confirmed and invoiced bookings. Travelogic will also take part in the Tech Talks that happen each day in the ICC. Travelogic will be speaking at 12 noon each day at ICCF09.
For more details visit the Travelogic stand at Indaba, ICCE05.
3.Campaigns highlight Cape Town’s offering
The Hello Weekend campaign is entering its second year and is a website that provides a range of weekend travel packages for visitors, built on a variety of attractions and experiences.
The packages include luxury experiences, taste sensations, couples’ weekends, sport, golf, shopping, adventure and more, including travel and accommodation options.
Langa, Constantia and Somerset West are all very different but much-loved by locals. The Love Cape Town Neighbourhoods video series take the viewer on a mini-trip through the areas and are narrated by locals who know where the best spots are for visitors.
For details visit the Cape Town Tourism stand (ODB17).
4.Annual KZN Business Breakfast
The MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs in KwaZulu Natal, Michael Mabuyakhulu, will host the Annual KZN Business Breakfast to give an update on the state of tourism in the province to members of the trade and buyers.
For details, visit Tourism KwaZulu-Natal’s stand at the DEC1A25.
