The City of Cape Town is in full bloom, just in time for Spring Day. Various nature reserves have already blossomed with Cape marguerites, vygies, African daisies, pelargoniums, arum lilies, kelkiewyn, common viooltjie, babiana, and many more.
Good spots to view the flowers include Tygerberg, Bracken, Witzands Aquifer, and False Bay. Other nature areas with similar views are Bothasig Nature Reserve, Durbanville Nature Reserve, Brackenfell, and Standfontein.
Other flowers that have been spotted already include the spider flower, fringe tulip, blue-beard lionface, rosy sandcrocus, orange satyre, and blue cap.
“I find that many are not aware of the picturesque reserves and conservation areas within our neighbourhoods. We are so spoilt with many conserved spots that are well managed by the City and showcase the natural beauty Cape Town has to offer,” says the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment, Marian Nieuwoudt.
