Rotana Hotels and Resorts has announced two new properties in East Africa. The Abu Dhabi-based hotel management company will open the Johari Rotana in Dar es Salaam in the first quarter of 2019, and a property in Nairobi in 2022, yet to be named.
The Johari Rotana is located in the MNF Square area, a mixed-use urban development comprising retail, business and accommodation facilities, 30 minutes from Julius Nyerere International Airport and close to the Zanzibar ferry. The hotel offers 193 rooms and suites and 61 serviced apartments. High-speed Internet and six fully equipped meeting rooms are available for business travellers. The property offers five food and beverage options, including an all-day-dining option, speciality restaurant and more relaxed gastropub.
Rotana’s Nairobi property is planned to be a five-star hotel with 200 guest rooms and 100 hotel apartments. The property will feature a signature dining option, executive lounge, meeting facilities and outdoor spaces that can be used for formal and informal gatherings. A pool and terrace area will be available, as well as a fitness and wellness club.
