Kenyan hotel group, Sarova Hotels, Resorts and Game Lodges, has unveiled a Ksh1.3 billion (€10.7m) new hotel in Nakuru County.
The hotel group took over the management of Sarova Woodlands Hotel and Spa in March after signing a management agreement with Woodlands Hotel Limited. The property is banking on the high tourist season, which began mid-July.
Jaideep Vohra, Managing Director of Sarova Hotels, said: “We are focusing on signing management deals with investors, as we have vast experience in operating hospitality services.”
The 147-room hotel is near State House, Nakuru, about a kilometre from the town’s CBD. The rooms include two en-suite bedrooms, seven junior suites, 14 executive suites and 125 standard rooms in doubles and twins.
Room amenities include air-conditioners, wireless Internet connectivity, bath with shower, satellite television, mini-bar, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Other services include a restaurant, a café and a bar. Meeting facilities include a room with capacity for over 200 people in a theatre style set-up and over 250 people for a cocktail party. There are also has three smaller rooms with a capacity for 60 people each in theatre style and 30 people in a meeting table set-up.
Other properties operated by the group include the Sarova Stanley and the Sarova Panafric in Nairobi, Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort in Mombasa, Sarova Mara Game Camp, Sarova Shaba Game Lodge, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge and Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge.
