There is currently a shortage of KAZA Univisa stickers. The Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport, Victoria Falls Border Post and Kazungula Border Post entry points have all run out.
The Livingstone Tourism Association has contacted the regional Immigration Department and is planning to follow up with Lusaka to see how fast the shortage can be dealt with.
Tourism Update contacted Wild Horizons to find out what the implication of the shortage would be for travellers. According to Wild Horizons, travellers would have to spend more, as a KAZA Univisa is $50 (€42) for entry into both countries. Now visitors who wish to cross the border have to pay the initial $50 as well as an additional $30 to visit both Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Wild Horizons said that it also added delays for clients, as they had to queue once again when crossing the borders.
It has been recommended that clients should buy double visas.
KAZA Univisa stickers are valid for 30 days as long as the traveller remains in Zambia and Zimbabwe. It also covers those who wish to visit Botswana for day trips through the Kazungula Borders.
