Conservation and ecotourism brand, Singita, recently promoted two guides in its guiding team at Singita Kruger National Park (SKNP).
After eight years as Head Guide, Chantelle Venter has transitioned into a new Senior Guide/Mentor role.
Venter’s guide and tracker training expertise will be instrumental in the team's growth and success, as she will now focus on training, mentorship, and assessments.
She has already mentored other trackers who have become guides since the Singita Guide Mentorship Programme was established in 2018 to provide additional support to learner guides.
Solomon Ndlovu has been promoted from Assistant Head Guide to Head Guide at SKNP, leading the teams at Singita Lebombo and Sweni Lodges.
In 2022, Ndlovu was a finalist in the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa’s Field Guide of Year.
He was born at Othawa, near Singita Ebony and Boulders Lodge, and growing up near the game reserves gave him early exposure to guiding.
He started as a tracker in 2007 and joined Singita Sabi Sand as a trainee tracker in 2010. He attained his guiding qualification in 2014 and has worked at Singita for 13 years.
Ndlovu said: “The peace you find in nature, and watching wildlife roaming free in their environment, makes me appreciate the privilege of being a safari guide.”
