The Holiday Express, a day-trip train operator based in Durban, has launched dates for its Easter trips.
The train will depart Durban Station for Scottburgh on April 13, 14, 16, and 17. On April 15, the train will depart Durban at 08h00 for a trip to Shongweni’s Farmers’ market. The journey to Scottburgh is about an hour and a half, while a trip to Shongweni is an hour.
Refreshments will be available on the Scottburgh trips. In Scottburgh, guests can choose to spend the day on the beach, paddle or canoe up the lagoon or have lunch at one of the hotels. No refreshments or snacks will be available on the Shongweni train as guests will visit the market, which offers a variety of snacks and light meals.
Angela Whittle, owner of Holiday Express, describes the day trips as “a fun adventure for the family with gorgeous scenery along the way”.
