The Zimbabwean government has put plans in place to modernise the Victoria Falls Bridge as part of its efforts to upgrade infrastructure in the town.
Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister, Dr Jorum Gumbo, said government would add an additional lane to each side of the Beitbridge-Bulawayo- Victoria Falls highway before the end of the year.
According to the Zimbabwe National Roads Administration, about US$230 000 has also been allocated to rehabilitate the roads in Victoria Falls.
“This is a town that recently had its airport expanded and redone, so, to match the new-look airport, it is important to have the roads up to standard,” said the Minister.
