A new sightseeing hop-on, hop-off bus, Bamba, is set to take to the streets of Victoria Falls in August, with the route taking in the city’s landmarks and attractions.
A Bamba Bus spokesperson told Tourism Update: “A big focus of ours is for the Bamba Bus to not just become another shuttle or transfer vehicle. Being on the Bamba Bus is an activity on its own. We have put a big emphasis on creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere on the bus.” Guides on the buses have been carefully chosen based on their personality and energy for life. They are very knowledgeable about the city and can answer guests’ questions.
The routes have been designed to showcase the best and the hidden treasures of Victoria Falls. The buses will run daily from 07h00 to midnight on two routes. The day run, from 07h00 to 18h00 will take in all the lodges, tourist attractions such as the entrance to the Falls, and a number of dining venues. The restaurant route runs from 18h00 to midnight, shuttling guests between a variety of dining options around the city and their accommodation.
The Bamba Bus concept was developed during the COVID pandemic, which gave owners the opportunity to ensure appropriate hygiene and safety measures. There are sanitiser dispensers at the entrance of the buses, temperatures will be taken and the buses are deep-cleaned daily.
The buses can carry 30 passengers. The fleet currently consists of two buses, with the intention to increase the number as tourist numbers increase.
