The Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has updated its advisory for travel to South Africa to reflect rolling blackouts and the resultant traffic delays. The department has not changed the ‘level of advice’ which currently advises Australians to exercise a high degree of caution in South Africa.
The advice is as follows: “Rolling blackouts are currently occurring in parts of South Africa, leaving areas without electrical power for several hours at a time and leading to lengthy traffic delays.”
