Thanda Island, a beach property within southern Tanzania’s Shungi Mbili Island Marine Reserve, will officially open in April.

The island is solar-powered and a five-bedroom villa features a glass rim-flow swimming pool and an indoor aquarium. The villa accommodates 10 adults, with the option of additional children sharing.

A coral reef surrounds the island, including a 1km exclusive-use zone, where guests can snorkel, paddle board, kayak and go on a sailing boat. Depending on the season, guests can also watch turtles nesting and see their eggs hatch on the beach.
