South African Tourism has just launched the tender process and issued the RFP for the exhibition management services for Africa’s Travel Indaba and Meetings Africa from 2018 to 2020.
The contract will take effect from September 1 and run for three years, with the option of a further two-year extension.
A management fee of R3m (€208 320) has been budgeted for Meetings Africa, while R7 000 000 (€486 000) has been budgeted for Africa’s Travel Indaba, and annual increases will be based on performance and inflation from 2019 onwards.
In the RFP, SA Tourism says that due to the short timeline for Meetings Africa (which usually takes place in February/March each year), it reserves the right to appoint the exhibition management company from 2019 unless the company can prove the ability to complete Meetings Africa in the next seven months.
The due date for submissions is July 18 at 12h00 and bidders are required to attend a compulsory briefing on July 4 from 10h30-13h00 at the DaVinci Hotel and Suites in Sandton.
