Makokola Retreat, on the south coast of Lake Malawi, has opened its newly built Lake Suites and a luxury Sunset Villa.
The 20 new suites – 10 on the top floor and 10 ground floor suites – each sleeping two adults and boasting views of Lake Malawi, are minimalist and modern, showcasing artwork produced by local artists. All rooms are air-conditioned with a private balcony or terrace overlooking the lake.
The Sunset Villa is an exclusive two-storey room, sleeping two adults, with a private infinity pool.
Other facilities on offer include an exclusive Lake Suite pool area and Tapas Bar. Guests can also make use of the gym, which is fitted with Technogym equipment.
Makokola Retreat offers a spa and conference centre as well as a host of water-based activities such as snorkelling, sailing and water skiing, and land-based activities such as tennis, bowls and bird watching.
