Delta Air Lines and Kenya Airways’ newly announced codeshare agreement will offer connections on Delta-operated flights from New York-JFK to Cape Town, Harare and Kigali, via Nairobi.
This is an expansion of the existing codeshare between the two carriers, which already allows passengers access to destinations in West, East and South Africa, rounding out Delta’s existing network of nonstop services to Accra, Dakar, Johannesburg and Lagos.
Passengers flying on Delta from JFK to Accra will be able to connect with Delta-marketed codeshare Kenya Airways’ flights to Monrovia and Freetown.
Alain Bellemare, Delta EVP and President International, says this codeshare is a response to customer demand for more travel choice between West and East and South Africa and North America.
Delta plans to resume its nonstop service between Atlanta and Johannesburg on August 1 using an Airbus A350-900, one of its newest aircraft, featuring Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select cabins, large seat-back entertainment screens and high-capacity overhead bins, among other enhancements.
