The Women in Tourism Western Cape’s (WITWC) newly appointed Exco and Committee ran a year-end event recently, where support for women in travel and tourism under the theme, Reigniting Tourism, was relaunched.

Chairwoman, Lizelle Bailey, reiterated at the event that WITWC would continue to strive to be the voice for women in tourism in the new year, and that there was still need for more attention and support to be given to all women entrepreneurs offering a tourism service or product.

“WITWC understands that access to resources and initiatives that allow small businesses in outlying communities to regain traction and build stronger and more reliable sources of revenue is critical at such a volatile time for the industry.

“Therefore the Exco is committed to driving change within the Western Cape and the surrounds to ensure they can create more sustainable, innovative opportunities for successful businesses,” said Bailey.
