Atzaró Okavango, located in Botswana's Okavango Delta, recently reopened after extensive renovations. A collaboration between Atzaró Group and African Bush Camps, the lodge has been reimagined with focus on sustainability and cultural heritage.

It features eight suites and two villas constructed with eco-friendly materials, including repurposed tree roots and solar-powered infrastructure. Each unit includes private plunge pools and outdoor bathing facilities. Communal areas include a spa, gym, observation deck and yoga lounge – all designed to blend with the surrounding environment while minimising ecological impact.

Sustainability measures include off-grid solar power, a bio-rock sewage system and the use of termite-resistant wood. A solar-powered water pump installed by African Bush Camps also provides clean water to the nearby village of Ditsiping.

The lodge incorporates African artwork and cultural elements such as a traditional boma area where guests can experience local storytelling and music. The design includes monolithic river stone sculptures representing indigenous trees of the Okavango Delta – aiming to highlight the region’s ecological significance.

Visitors can participate in game drives, walking safaris and mokoro excursions – guided by experienced professionals. These activities aim to showcase the Delta’s diverse ecosystems while supporting conservation and responsible tourism practices.
