Rwanda and French soccer club, Paris Saint-Germain, have partnered to promote tourism to the country.
First team players will travel to Rwanda where they will support young Rwandan footballers to reach their full potential by providing guidance and organising training programmes.
The partnership will also see ‘Visit Rwanda’ displayed at the Parc des Princes Stadium and featured on the training, pre-game and warm-up kits of the men’s team and on the sleeves of the kits of the women’s team.
The partnership is expected to last three years.
“We invest part of our tourism revenues in strategic collaborations such as the one with Paris Saint-Germain because we understand the positive effect they have on the overall perception of the country globally,” said Clare Akamanzi, CEO of the Rwanda Development Board.
“This means attracting more tourism, boosting the export of ‘Made in Rwanda’ products, creating more economic opportunities for our people and increasing jobs in our tourism industry and the larger ecosystem.”
“This multifaceted collaboration will showcase all Rwanda has to offer and create powerful partnerships to contribute to Rwanda’s impressive growth,” said Marc Armstrong, Chief Partnerships Officer for Paris Saint-Germain Soccer Club.
