City Sightseeing Cape Town offers locals and travellers an opportunity to explore the city on foot in two uniquely different free tours.
The Historic City Walk is a 90 minute tour departing from Long Street. Travellers will hear interesting stories about the city's rich history and heritage - from slavery to the apartheid era and present day. Along the tour, travellers will see Greenmarket Square, City Hall and the Company's Garden, home to the Cape's oldest living citizen.The tour is free and operates on a tip-only basis.
The Bo-Kaap Walk is a 90 minute tour departing from Long Street. On this tour, travellers will experience Bo-Kaap and its brightly coloured houses and see the first mosque in Cape Town, Auwal Masjid, and the Bo-Kaap Museum. Travellers will also be able to taste true Cape Malay Food. The guided tour is in English and operates on a tip-only basis.
A ticket on the City Sightseeing bus gives locals and travellers access to all main tours: the Red City Tour, Blue Mini Peninsula Tour, Yellow Downtown Tour and the Purple Wine Tour. All tours are equipped with informative audio commentary about Cape Town’s major attractions in 15 different languages. There is also a channel for kids.
