Desert and Delta Safaris has commenced the refurbishment and rebuild of Camp Xakanaxa and Savute Safari Lodge.

Camp Xakanaxa’s 11 luxury tents will be refreshed, including a fresh canvas wrap, some new furnishings and a retouch of existing decor. The room refurbishment will create significantly more space in the interiors but they will still be aligned with the authentic intimate style that the camp has maintained for years. 

A family tent will have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a comfortable lounge and a private deck area. An additional sleeper couch in the second bedroom will cater for families with three children. The camp will now offer 11 standard tents and one family tent.

At Savuti Safari Lodge, extensive refurbishments to the main public areas overlooking the channel and waterholes are planned. The new areas will make best use of the space in front of the Savute Channel and an active waterhole.

The new facilities will include a relocation of the swimming pool to a more discreet location facing the Channel, new walkways, multiple dining locations and new deck areas with a live cooking area for brunches and dinner.

Both properties are expected to reopen on March 1.
