Wild Expeditions Africa recently shared images of Ethiopian wolf pups during a guided expedition to Bale Mountains National Park. The sighting provided a rare glimpse into the lives of these critically endangered carnivores, offering valuable insight into their behaviour at den sites.
Guests observed playful interactions between the pups and adults as well as key social behaviours essential for the survival of the species.
The Ethiopian wolf is Africa’s most endangered carnivore with its habitat limited to the high-altitude grasslands of Ethiopia. Encounters like this highlight the importance of ongoing conservation efforts to protect the species from threats such as habitat loss and disease.
