Fastjet Zimbabwe will reintroduce flights between Victoria Falls and Johannesburg from Thursday, December 3.
Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, departing from Johannesburg OR Tambo International at 11h10, arriving in Victoria Falls at 12h50. The return flight will depart Victoria Falls at 13h20, arriving at OR Tambo International Airport at 14h55. Flights will be operated by the 50-seat Embraer ERJ145 aircraft.
"We are pleased to be starting this route and to be working closely with Zimbabwe tourism authorities, travel service providers and the local communities in contributing to build a post-COVID-19 strong and resilient tourism sector for Victoria Falls,” said Ed Berry, Accountable Manager of Fastjet Zimbabwe.
The airline has also announced additional return flights between Harare and Johannesburg.
“Effective Monday, November 9, we will be adding flight frequencies between Harare’s Robert Mugabe International Airport and OR Tambo International Airport,” said Berry.
Flights will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, departing Johannesburg at 06h50 and arriving in Harare at 08h30. The return flight will depart Harare at 08h55 and arrive in Johannesburg at 10h40. Flights will be operated by the Embraer ERJ145.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe Public Relations and Communications Manager, Anna Julia Hungwe, said: “This is exciting news for CAAZ and the tourism industry at large. We will continuously strive to meet international COVID-19 protection standards.”
