Fastjet Zimbabwe’s first flight between Harare and Victoria Falls took off on October 27, marking the launch of a new low-cost Zimbabwean airline.
To celebrate its launch, fastjet Zimbabwe has set all fares on the Victoria Falls-Harare route in October and November at $20 (R272) one way, excluding airport and government taxes of $18 (R245).
The flights will operate initially three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using an Airbus A319, with seating for up to 144 passengers. The low-cost airline expects to add more flights to Victoria Falls as demand increases.
Fastjet Zimbabwe expects that up to 40% of its passengers will be first-time flyers.
The low-cost airline plans to expand rapidly both locally and across the African continent, creating a comprehensive network of international destinations to complement its domestic routes within Zimbabwe.
International destinations that fastjet Zimbabwe hopes to establish from Harare include South Africa, Kenya, Zambia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Botswana and Malawi.
