Horwath HTL South African Director, Michelè de Witt, has been elected Fedhasa Cape’s new chairman for the next two years. She succeeds former Cape Town International Convention Centre CEO, Dirk Elzinga.
De Witt has been a member of Fedhasa Cape for 13 years and was a member of the board for eight of those years.
Also elected were: John Sanei, Owner of hospitality consultancy The Fresh Ingredient, as Chairman of the restaurant segment; with restaurateur, Richard Key, as alternate Chairman. Carol Armstrong-Hooper, owner of Highlands Country House, was re-elected Chairman of the small accommodation segment, with Susanne Faussner-Ringer of Greenways Hotel as her alternate. Jeff Rosenberg, GM of the Southern Sun Waterfront; Ally Strachan of Ciro Coffees; and Michael Oosthuizen of Asara wine estate, remain in their roles as sector Chairmen for the hotel, allied and youth segments respectively.
