Following the success of the award-winning Cape Town-produced film My Octopus Teacher, a short-form sequel has now come to the new interactive video platform WaterBear: Africa’s Hidden Seaforest.
In the ten-minute film, Swati Thiyagarajan, the wife of My Octopus Teacher’s Craig Foster, overcomes her fear of swimming while on a mission to discover and conserve the Great African Seaforest, where footage for the original film was created.
The Great African Seaforest is the only forest of giant bamboo kelp in the world, stretching more than 1 000km from the shores of Cape Town to Namibia. The underwater forest is home to a myriad of underwater species and rich biodiversity.
