Luxury boutique hotel, La Petite Ferme in Franschhoek, has launched five refurbished Vineyard Suites.
All renovations, décor and finishings have been individually selected and customised for each room. GM, Riaan Kruger, says: “Staying relevant, adapting with the times and trends and responding to our guests’ needs is very important to us. The suites were basically gutted, providing a blank canvas for the new look… We replaced the reeds with modern, crisp white ceilings; the gas fireplaces were replaced with wood-burning ones; the flooring was redone, and new state-of-the-art air-conditioning was installed.”

The exteriors retain the Cape Vernacular style in keeping with the heritage of the wine farm and its surrounds. The interiors have wallpaper that is mirrored in each bathroom, linking to the theme of each bedroom: the Florentine Suite, Provençale Suite, Africa Suite, Moresque Suite and Léman Suite.
The bathrooms were fitted with top-end luxury fixtures and fittings, and a feature wall of hand-made patterned tiles was added.
Each suite has its own private terrace that now has a built-in daybed, and private plunge pools that have been re-tiled with hand-made patterned tiles.

“We replaced all the doors and windows in the Vineyard Suites, installing much bigger versions so that we could maximise the astonishing views,” says Kruger. “Guests can lie on their beds, or relax in the bath with a glass of wine, and still enjoy the uninterrupted views over the valley.”
The boutique hotel is part of a larger estate that produces hand-crafted wines, and is home to an award-winning restaurant. It is situated less than three minutes from Franschhoek.
