The Wanderers in Johannesburg will be the venue for a ‘Golf for Peace’ day, which follows the International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT) World Symposium at Emperors Palace from February 16-19. The symposium is entitled Cultivating Sustainable and Peaceful Communities and Nations through Tourism, Culture and Sport.
The 18-hole event takes place on Friday, February 20, and will be played by groups of four – two South Africans and two visitors. It is being organised by Living Golf and registration can be made though the website by clicking here.
Eminent keynote speakers at the symposium include Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organisation, Dr Taleb Rifai, and President and CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council, David Scowsill. South African Minister of Tourism, Dr Derek Hanekom, has also been invited.
