The African Travel & Tourism Association (ATTA) has announced the return of its ATTA for Action Awards, now in its second year, recognising sustainable initiatives and partnerships across Africa’s travel industry.
Organisations operating in African tourism – including accommodation providers, activity suppliers, non-profits and international buyers – are invited to submit entries across 10 categories. These include core pillars such as environmental conservation, waste reduction, traveller education and community upliftment alongside two new categories: Media Voice for Action and Emerging Changemaker.
Entries will be assessed by a panel of experts in responsible tourism. Winners will be announced during an awards ceremony on June 23 as part of Experience Africa, ATTA’s annual B2B trade show in London.
Chris Mears, CEO of ATTA’s Experience Africa Events, said the awards aim to highlight scalable, solutions-oriented initiatives. “These examples provide working models for how the sector can align purpose with impact. We’ve also added categories to recognise smaller efforts and media voices who are shaping how Africa’s tourism story is told.”
Entries close on May 5. Full guidelines and category details are available here.
