The Department of Tourism has contracted consultancy, HS Business Solutions, to conduct an evaluation of the impact of COVID-19 on the tourism sector.
The evaluation aims to determine the extent to which tourism enterprises and workers in the tourism sector have been affected by restrictions due to the pandemic.
Furthermore, it will assess the extent to which enterprises were aware of the financial support being provided in the country by both public and private institutions and how they used the financial assistance received.
The outcomes of the impact evaluation will assist the department with developing appropriate strategies, interventions and plans that will seek to support tourism enterprises, especially small, micro and medium enterprises.
