Kenya Airways is pulling out all the stops to make their passengers’ experience a good one over the World Cup.
In the event of a flight delay or cancellation out of Nairobi, arrangements have been made for passengers to enjoy a city tour instead of waiting at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. A special Karibu ‘Welcome‘ Team will be stationed at the airport to meet and assist connecting passengers to Johannesburg. In addition, the airline has secured its own baggage area at JKIA, sporting colour-coded tags specifically for World Cup passengers, ensuring their bags are moved quickly, efficiently and safely over this peak period.
On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, a local KQ meet and assist team, dressed in the airline’s bright red and funky football Friday shirts, will be able to assist passengers with connecting domestic flights. French- and Portuguese-speaking staff have been contracted over the World Cup period to assist with translating, should it be required.
Lastly, the ultimate contingency plan is in place, with an extra KQ aircraft on 24-hour standby in Nairobi should the airline experience any flight delays with any of its scheduled flights bound for South Africa over this crucial period.
