Mokoro activities at Sanctuary Baines’ Camp have resumed following high levels of rain in the Okavango Delta.
Sanctuary Baines’ Camp is situated on raised platforms above the Boro River in a private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp comprises five suites and has a swimming pool and wooden deck that surrounds the main dining and sitting room. Activities on offer, apart from mokoro rides, include game drives and walking safaris.
New solar plants will also be installed at Sanctuary Baines’ Camp and Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp by mid-April. The camps will follow the process implemented at Sanctuary Chief’s Camp, which had a solar farm installed in 2016 following its rebuild.
With the new project, 70% of the electricity will come from solar panels and battery banks.
