Protea Hotel Mossel Bay in the Garden Route has recently undergone refurbishment.
Eight rooms were upgraded from family rooms to deluxe rooms with new king-size beds that can be split into two twin beds. The furnishings feature woodwork with all furniture sourced from the nearby town of George.
Protea Hotel Mossel Bay is situated on the Old Post Tree Square. It has 15 Manor rooms, seven Harbour suites and one Presidential suite. With the eight deluxe rooms, the hotel now has 31 units.
The hotel, which forms part of the Dias Museum Complex, is also home to the Blue Oyster Cocktail Bar, and offers a swimming pool, private secure parking, a shopping complex, a coffee bar and the Café Gannet Restaurant.
The next project is to improve the sundeck at the Blue Oyster Bar and to upgrade the Presidential Suite to full five-star standard.
Owner, JJ Moorcroft, said: “The new rooms will appeal to a range of travellers, domestic and international, whether they are travelling for leisure or for business.”
