Mount Sheba, a Forever Resorts, Lodges, Hotels and Retreats property near Pilgrim’s Rest, has relaunched following recent upgrades and renovations.
There are 14 king suites with king-size beds and 10 family rooms with a downstairs lounge and a loft bedroom with a queen-size bed. The executive suite comprises an open-plan bar and lounge area, a separate en-suite bedroom that leads on to a private patio. Each room features its own fireplace, which is lit while guests enjoy supper in the Chandelier dining room.
The lodge overlooks a tree-covered nature reserve that is home to the endangered Samango monkey.
Activities include trout fishing, crazy croquet, horseshoe toss, gold panning, giant chess and tennis. There is also a new kids’ playroom with Playstation consoles, movies and games. The property also offers a spa facility.
Mount Sheba has two conference venues and an ideal setting for wedding ceremonies in a natural rain forest about 200 metres from the lodge.
The main entrance road to the lodge follows part of an old wagon trail that was once an alternative route from Lydenburg to Pilgrim’s Rest.
“Mount Sheba is graded three-star but our guests can experience upper-class five-star treatment as we spoil them in the true old-fashioned hospitable way,” said Fanie Fick, Hotel Manager.
