The Namibia Tourism Board’s Frankfurt office is undertaking a cross-promotion and brand co-operation project with leading German sports clothing brand Falke to help position Namibia as a destination for running and other sports training camps.
Started in April, the Falke EmpowerHER project saw four women of different generations, from Germany and the USA, running four marathons in Namibia’s four desert ecosystems – the Namib, the Kalahari, the Succulent Karoo and the Nama Karoo – over the course of a week. They were also given the chance to explore more of the country’s spectacular landscapes and adventure activities.
Various media content from the trip will be distributed through online and print channels. It will also be used for displays in Falke shops and for packaging Namibian tours through German sports tour operator InterAir.
The muti-channel campaign is expected to launch in September 2024 and will aim to reach over five million consumers in Germany. In 2025, InterAir will follow this campaign with the launch of running camps in Namibia.
The initiative was additionally supported by Ethiopian Airlines and Gondwana Collection.
