Kalahari Anib Lodge in Namibia will close for alterations and extensive renovations from January 4 to April 1 next year.
The lodge is part of the Gondwana Collection and was rebranded in 2014.
The 30 standard rooms around the courtyard will be upgraded and the freestanding chalets will be converted into 22 comfort rooms, including family units with views of the savannah.
The access road to the lodge will be shifted to lead through a scenic route and walkways will be constructed behind the chalets. A new main building housing reception, a souvenir shop, a bar and a restaurant with a terrace will also be built.
Miriam Schmidt, Marketing Manager of the Gondwana Collection said: “Renovations have to be carried out at all the lodges at regular intervals in order to maintain the quality of the product. Alterations at Kalahari Anib Lodge will be so extensive that we decided to close for three months rather than expect guests to put up with the disturbances of construction work in progress.”
