ISIMANGALISO Wetland Park in KwaZulu Natal has opened its newest boardwalk at Lake St Lucia.
The boardwalk is proving to be a popular tourism attraction for local townsfolk and visitors with a resident herd of hippos often being seen as well as a wide variety of bird species in the forest and on the estuary's shore.
The boardwalk links the St Lucia Ski-boat Club, Sugarloaf Campsite, Estuary Beach, and the self-guided Igwalagwala trail, which passes along Honeymoon Bend.
The 500m boardwalk was rebuilt after Cyclone Gamede severely damaged the structure in March 2007.
