Stars of Africa, which specialises in tailor-made tours, has opened two new camps in Botswana.
Mogogelo Camp is a classic tented safari camp in a private concession (NG34) in the Okavango Delta. It offers 10 safari tents.
A Motswana-owned and -run operation in northern Botswana’s famous wildlife territory, it offers an authentic experience and the knowledge of the local Okavango Delta community.
Facilities at the camp include a thatched dining area with a bar, outdoor lounge, swimming pool, and a traditional fire pit looking toward the waterhole.
Located on the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta, Mogogelo is in a seasonal flood area, giving guests the opportunity for mokoro (indigenous canoe) and boating activities during high-water season. In the dry season, walking safaris explore the wild concession on foot and game drives take place, day and night.
Located in the Khwai Community Concession (NG19), the seven-chalet African Excursions Guest House is in the north-eastern sector of the Delta and borders Moremi Game Reserve.
Accommodation looks on to the shared garden and thatched lapa, which has a bar and dining table. There are also restrooms and a boma.
The concession borders Moremi Game Reserve on the Khwai River and is one of Botswana’s most active wildlife areas. Game drives offer the opportunity to explore the concession during the day and at night, while full-day trips into Moremi are also an option.
Walking safaris on the concession with local Setswana guides is another exciting experience.
