On Thursday May 31, the Ibis Styles IU Hotel was inaugurated in Benguela, Angola, by the Angolan Minister of Hotels and Tourism, Angela Bragança. This will make it the 8th hotel in the IU group of hotels (which is owned by AAA Activos Lda) to be opened in the country.
The six-floored hotel has 120 bedrooms, two meeting rooms, a restaurant/bar and a car park.
Bragança praised the AAA group for its commitment to tourism, through the opening of the chain of hotels, saying that she believes the country is focusing on the development and diversification of the economy “with tourism being a great boost”.
The building of the hotel created jobs for 14 young people, which was noted by the minister. The Provincial Governor of Benguela, Rui Falcão, seconded this sentiment, saying that “with the emergence of this hotel, competition will increase, and it will be necessary to improve services so that Benguela can attract more and more people and make tourism more inclusive where everyone participates”.
