Lush Private Lodge recently opened on Black Rhino Game Reserve, a private concession within the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park in the North West province of South Africa.
The private concession has exclusive traversing rights to 25 000 hectares, as well as access to the Pilanesberg National Park’s public section. Furthermore, guests have the opportunity to see the Big Five and endangered African wild dog.

Lush is a contemporary lodge shaped around the environment, with minimalistic décor and natural finishes.
Accommodation comprises three bush-facing and two mountain-facing suites. Each includes an emperor-sized bed, a pause area with a Smeg minibar and Nespresso coffee machine, en-suite bathrooms that feature a free-standing bath, open-air shower, a furnished deck and private splash pool.
The main guest area consists of a bar, open-plan dining/lounge area, an outdoor lounge and a wrap-around viewing/dining deck.
There is a boma for social outdoor dinners with a barbecue, central fire pit and dining tables.
Children over 12 are welcome and the age restriction is revisable if the lodge is booked exclusively.
Activities include twice-daily game drives with coffee and sundowner stops. Nearby activities include the Pilanesberg hot-air balloon safaris, golf at Sun City’s championship Gary Player and Lost City golf courses.
The lodge’s rates include three meals a day; afternoon tea, with all teas/coffees and soft drinks, as well as local beers, wines and spirits; in-room minibar; and all lodge activities.
The on-site Lush Boutique features a range of selected items for purchase, including the lodge’s blend of fair-trade coffee.
