Members of the industry were shocked and devastated to hear of the death of Patsy Hayter, Owner of Exclusive Getaways (established 2001), after a short illness last week (October 31).
In their tribute on the Exclusive Getaways Facebook page, her team said: “To all our supporters and friends of Exclusive Getaways. We are heartbroken to share the news of Patsy's passing. She was such a pillar in the travel community and a wise, warm and remarkable woman that people turned to for so many things professionally and personally. We may not reply to all messages at this sad time but thank you for your thoughts. From the Exclusive Getaways team: Pam, Amanda, Nadine and Cathy.”
Brigitte Hoyle, Owner of Travel FLOH, described Patsy as “an energetic, positive, soft and warm-hearted, funny and, most of all, genuine person. My you rest in peace surrounded by love and light”.
Other friends and colleagues remembered how she would help them tap into her business network, highlighting that she was “incredibly dear” to so many across the globe – not only in the tourism education, travel and hospitality sector but in every walk of life.
People spoke of her love and care for animals, her ethics, generous heart, great sense of humour and her radiant smile.
She leaves a legacy of love, kindness, dedication and so much more. Patsy will be missed.
