Africa Albida Tourism (AAT) has appointed Dustin Kennedy as General Manager of its Victoria Falls Safari Lodge estate.
Kennedy took up his new position on February 12, replacing Jonathan Hudson, who left in October 2017.
Kennedy was born in Zimbabwe, into a tourism and hospitality family.
He has 16 years of international hospitality experience, holding management roles in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Dubai and Zanzibar.
He has known the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge estate, and many of the staff too, since it was built in the early 1990s, and has closely followed all developments that have taken place.
Kennedy will be closely involved in the launch of the redeveloped Victoria Falls Safari Club, set to reopen in March.
African Bush Camps has appointed Alexandra Nägeli as its Germanic and Nordic Market Representative.
Nägeli has worked with companies such as Private Safaris Switzerland before founding her own company, Moya Africa, and has gained a significant amount of experience in the industry. She will support African Bush Camps in the European market in sales and marketing, providing a strong platform to increase the company’s brand awareness, growing African Bush Camps market share and stimulate new business in the European market.
Lisa Jackson has been appointed Revenue and Reservations Manager at the Oyster Box in Umhlanga, KwaZulu Natal.
She completed her International Hotel Management Diploma at Varsity College in 2004, and then went on to do her in-house training with City Lodge Hotels and the Cullinan Hotel in Cape Town. She has held various roles at a series of hotels in SA and the US before starting as Reservations Agent at The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa in the Western Cape in June 2008. Thereafter she became Reservations Manager for both The Twelve Apostles and Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve and Wellness Retreat until 2014, when she then joined The Residence Zanzibar and then The Residence Mauritius as Revenue Manager.
Cresta Hotels has appointed Chipo Mandela as its Country Director for Zimbabwe. Mandela took up her new role on February 1.
She succeeds Glenn Stutchbury, who left the group after six years as CEO.
Mandela is a Chartered Certified Accountant and holds an MBA from the Management College of Southern Africa. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Administration and Commerce in Zimbabwe and a Chartered Director within the Institute of Directors.
Minor Hotels has appointed Adam Beadon as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, based in its Johannesburg office. Beadon is responsible for leading the Sales and Marketing teams, working on the company’s Anantara and AVANI brands in Southern African and Indian Ocean islands.
Beadon, born in South Africa, joins Minor Hotels from his role as Director of Sales at the InterContinental Hotel Group’s Festival City Cluster and has more than ten years’ experience in sales for hospitality groups.
