African Pride Irene Country Lodge in Pretoria – which was recently brought into Marriott International’s Autograph Collection – has introduced new elements to highlight its ‘farm in the city’ feel.
The hotel has expanded with 48 new guest rooms with a view of the Camdeboo Forest, taking the total number of rooms to 123.
The hotel has also expanded its conference facilities with the addition of the 220-seat Lakeside Conference Venue, operational since the beginning of July. The restaurant has also been expanded and can now accommodate 300 guests.
The lodge is adjacent to Irene Farm dating back to 1895 and incorporates historic buildings like the barn and dairy. Joe Segers, General Manager of the hotel says: “Soon the hotel will be part of the Farm, and the Farm part of the hotel,” adding: “In a few months’ time, hotel guests will be able to enjoy a leisurely stroll from the hotel through the subway to take pleasure in the farm’s many offerings, such as fresh dairy products and many activities for children, like feeding the cows.”
