Rwanda is targeting more arrivals from Canada, following its first-ever tourism roadshow in the country last week.
In 2022, Rwanda received more than 62 000 tourists from North America, according to the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), although the vast majority of these came from the United States.
Organised by the Rwanda Embassy in Canada, together with the RDB and marketing agency Myriad Marketing, the roadshow introduced the Visit Rwanda campaign to Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver over a period of five days.
"Rwanda is a country that can connect you to different attractions with only a two-and-a-half to five-hour drive. It's a small country with so much to offer," said RDB's Head of Tourism and Conservation, Ariella Kageruka.
Tourism and hospitality is one of Rwanda's fast-growing sectors after the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing in critical revenues.
