RwandAir’s first flights between Kigali, Rwanda, and London, United Kingdom, took place on May 26.
The Rwandan national carrier will operate three weekly flights from its hub, Kigali International Airport, to Gatwick International Airport, London, in the United Kingdom.
London, is the airline’s first European route and second long haul route. The destination will be served by a new aircraft Airbus A330.
The London route will bring RwandAir’s growing network to 22 destinations.
“We are delighted to enable new and seamless connections between London and the whole of our network, offering our customers a differentiated product in terms of comfort, good customer services and affordability,” the airline said in a press release.
Apart from the London route, the carrier also plans to expand services to Guangzhou in China, Bamako in Mali, Conakry in Guinea, Lilongwe in Malawi and New York in the United States.
Last month, the Rwandan flag carrier launched flights to Mumbai, India, and Harare, Zimbabwe.
