Nomad Tanzania’s recent lucky draw has raised more than €15 000 to fund additional “beds-for-meds” outreach clinics in remote villages near Tanzania’s national parks.
The programme facilitates health outreach trips to communities with mobile clinics offering access to medical specialists. Two outreach trips, starting in July, will aim to support 750 people with services including cancer screening, eye care and dentistry.
“We want to say a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who entered our safari competition. Every penny raised will have a real impact by adding additional clinics to our calendar. Over the past year, our beds-for-meds programme has given over 6 000 individuals the opportunity to see medical specialists,” said Lucy Cole, Head of Conservation and Community Projects at Nomad.
The competition winner will enjoy a six-night safari across southern Tanzania, visiting Kigelia in Ruaha National Park and Sand Rivers in Nyerere National Park. The trip offers an immersive experience in the Tanzanian wilderness where every guest’s presence helps drive positive community change.
