Seolo Africa’s Rhino Post Safari Lodge and Rhino Walking Safaris have received approval from South African National Parks to conduct game drives in the Mutlumuvi seasonal riverbed in the Kruger National Park.
The riverbed, which runs through the concession, provides an amazing bush experience, and guests can now spend time exploring an area that has never been accessible to the public before. The riverbed will be open exclusively for Seolo’s guests.
A spokesperson for Rhino Post Safari Lodge said guest feedback on being allowed to use the Kruger roads after dark, with the added bonus of being able to do drives in the isolated riverbeds on the concession, had been overwhelmingly positive, and riverbed drives were already being requested and frequently talked about in reviews and on social media.
From an ecological point of view, conducting game drives in a seasonal riverbed has the least environmental impact as opposed to making new tracks through the bush or driving off road for game viewing purposes.
Rhino Walking Safaris had to prepare an Environmental Management Plan and present it to SANParks Kruger Management for approval and comment.
