Over the past weekend, a three-day event to expand Tourism Seychelles’ presence in the Middle East market was held in Abu Dhabi.
On Saturday, July 1, the press event hosted more than 20 media professionals to experience what the Seychelles offered as a tourist destination.
During the event, Bernadette Willemin, Director General of Destination Marketing, engaged with members of the press, giving them valuable insights into what set Seychelles apart from other islands.
The discussion focused on the ongoing efforts of the tourism department to continuously develop and enhance the tourism experience in Seychelles.
The press and consumer events continued from July 2 to 3 at Mushrif Mall, where visitors were exposed to the beauty and culture of Seychelles with an exhibition in the mall.
The events began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by guests, including Stephanie Lablache, Director General of Destination Marketing for the UAE, and Ahmed Fathallah, the Tourism Seychelles representative and Regional Manager of the GCC Dubai office.
Willemin presented the destination, highlighting its unique selling propositions and emphasising the pivotal role of Abu Dhabi as an important market for Seychelles.
She said the two-day event in the mall would ignite the imagination of the Abu Dhabi audience, elevate Seychelles’ visibility, and create a desire to experience the destination first-hand.
To immerse attendees in the allure of the islands, a massive screen lit up with video footage showcasing the pristine beaches, lush landscapes and diverse attractions. Seychellois dancers and musicians joined the event to showcase the rhythms and traditions of the destination.
