A RECENT wildfire that blackened about a hundred hectares of mountainside near Hermanus has had no adverse impact on tourism to the region, according to Overberg Tourism spokesperson, Lizette Kok.

She said no guesthouses were damaged in the blaze and only a part of the Fernkloof Nature Reserve sustained damage. The nearby Harold Porter Botanical Garden near Kleinmond, famous for its diversity of fynbos species, escaped unharmed.
